Microneedling at Refined Baildon
Achieve smoother, firmer skin with microneedling at our Baildon clinic. This collagen-boosting treatment uses tiny needles to stimulate skin repair, reducing wrinkles, scars, and pores for a more youthful, even complexion with minimal downtime.
Microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a minimally invasive treatment we provide at our Baildon clinic to refresh and renew your skin.
This procedure uses a device with fine, sterile needles to create tiny punctures in the surface of the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate your body's natural healing response, ramping up the production of collagen and elastin – the key building blocks for firm, smooth skin.
As a result, microneedling can significantly improve skin texture and tone: it helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, fade acne scars and other scars, and minimise the appearance of large pores.
The treatment typically takes about 30-60 minutes, and we apply a numbing cream beforehand to ensure you're comfortable.
After the session, your skin will be a bit red (similar to a mild sunburn) for a day or two, and then it gradually looks more radiant as it heals.
Over the following weeks, you'll notice your complexion becoming smoother, plumper, and more even. Microneedling is a fantastic option for overall skin rejuvenation using your skin’s own regenerative power, with little downtime and very natural-looking results.

FAQ's
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
While you can see benefits from a single microneedling session, optimal results usually come from multiple treatments. We often recommend a series of around 3 to 6 microneedling sessions, spaced approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart, especially for concerns like acne scarring or deeper wrinkles.
This series allows each treatment to build on the previous one’s collagen-stimulating effects. The exact number of sessions will depend on your skin’s condition and your specific goals – during your consultation, we’ll assess factors like the severity of any scarring or lines to create a tailored plan.
After you complete an initial series and achieve the desired improvements, you might choose to have maintenance microneedling treatments once or twice a year to continue stimulating collagen and keep your skin looking its best.
How Long Will Results Last?
Microneedling results appear gradually, as it leverages your skin’s natural healing process. You might notice an early post-treatment “glow” and smoother feel to your skin within the first week once any redness subsides. However, more substantial changes such as reduction in fine lines, tightening of the skin, or fading of acne scars typically become visible about 4 to 6 weeks after your session.
This is the time it takes for new collagen to form and old, damaged skin tissue to be remodeled. If you undergo a series of treatments, you’ll likely observe incremental improvements after each session, with significant improvements in texture and firmness emerging by the end of the series (often around the 3-month mark after your initial treatment). Remember that collagen remodeling continues for months, so your skin may keep improving even beyond that timeframe.
